Longevity Nutrition. The Dos and Don’ts: Video Interview with The Menopause Dietplan
Moderation is boring. But doesn’t have to be difficult. It yields exceptional results for your health, happiness and longevity.
The menopause dietplan may suggest that you have to be in menopause to make a plan. But it is very much the opposite: the 10-15 years leading up to menopause are the best time to make sustainable changes to your metabolic health, with nutrition at its core.
Moderation, or 80/20 is a concept that can seem unattainable to your younger self that is burning the candle at both ends, trying to manage weight, is able to exercise very hard and has a full social life. But just as other ares in life take more shape gradually and naturally, that could best be described as… uhm sensible, food is an area to create routines that allow you to thrive as your body starts doing weird things.
One-size-fits-all doesn’t work for us and our bodies need a more nuanced approach than male ones, which is why we wanted to dive deep.
We sat down with Elizabeth Ward, MS, RDN, one part of the dietitian duo behind The Menopause Dietplan book, social media and solid information for all of us navigating a new stage in life; and the new body that comes with it. Elizabeth and her partner in crime, Hillary Wright focus on the essentials when it comes to nutrition:
Not fad diets,
no quick fixes
not focusing on body goals that have always been unattainable
coming to terms with change and
most importantly: only sharing information that is science-based.
Just how we like it at Vitelle.
